Things to consider when moving into a retirement community

When moving into a retirement community it should come without stresses, especially the financial side of things. Everything should be smooth and worry free. That’s the whole point. At Europa on Alma, there’s no stamp duty or council rates to pay.

And as our service fees are fixed for life, they will stay at today’s rates for the entire time you live at the community. Many people find that knowing what their monthly outgoings will be brings a sense of relief.

Ongoing fees

Our service fee covers the day-to-day running costs of the Europa on Alma retirement community to keep it and the amenities in tip-top condition. One of the benefits of paying service fees (also known as ongoing fees) is that it reduces the amount of individual bills and administration you need to do. No more home and garden maintenance not only means more leisure time, but less to worry about, too.

Our fees start at $795 per month. Unlike many other retirement communities, our fees include your council rates and 24-hour emergency call service. Additionally, every apartment is individually metered, and you are only charged for the electricity you use.

Bring your four legged friend

Small pets are most welcome at Europa on Alma; however, as you would appreciate, your pet must not cause a nuisance to other residents. Our Concierge can even arrange a dog walking service for you if you need it.

Feel safe and secure

To ensure the safety and security of everyone who lives at Europa on Alma, entry into the building requires access via a security fob. And when you enter the secure basement car park, you’ll always feel safe – simply drive into your car space, then walk to the lift, using your fob to enter. You’ll be taken directly to your floor, for quick, safe access to your retirement apartment. You are welcome to have overnight visitors at any time, all you need to do is let the manager know who’s coming to stay. And if you want to go away, simply lock up and leave, knowing your home is secure.

Peace of mind guaranteed

If you’re not satisfied with your new apartment and terminate and vacate within the first three months, we’ll refund your purchase price in full. (You are responsible for the maintenance charges during your period of occupation.)

When it’s time to sell, we’ll guarantee the re-sale and will buy it back after six months. Whilst some retirement villages have no specified time limit and are subject to sale, leaving families waiting a considerable time for a refund, Bolton Clarke will refund you regardless as to whether the property is sold.
